About The Role
Due to continued growth across our Power T&D business in Scotland, we're looking for experienced Substation Electricians (Wiremen) to join our team. This role will support the installation and maintenance of high-voltage substation equipment across multiple projects throughout Scotland.
Flexibility and a willingness to travel and work away from home when required is essential.
What you'll be doing
- Installation of HV plant and apparatus from 33kV to 400kV.
- Installing switchgear, transformers, busbars, connectors, earthing systems and associated equipment.
- Glanding and terminating power and multicore cables.
- Wiring control panels, labels, interlocks and associated systems.
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings, including red and green mark-ups.
- Working closely with site supervisors, project teams and commissioning engineers.
- Maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and workmanship.
- Supporting project delivery and resolving installation issues on site.
Who we're looking for
- SJIB Approved Electrician qualification.
- Experience working within HV substation environments.
- Knowledge of substation installation procedures and practices.
- Ability to work safely at height.
- CPCS or similar qualifications desirable.
- MEWP, Telehandler or ROTO certification desirable.
- SSE, SPEN or National Grid authorisations advantageous.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong safety focus and communication skills.
