Description

Autostar is a well-established Canterbury business proud to offer a comprehensive combined service of automotive repair and panel paint solutions. As part of our continued growth and recent facility expansion, we are looking for a skilled WOF Inspector / Automotive Technician to join our team at our Spreydon workshop. We are a tight-knit, hardworking team operating in a busy environment where we take immense pride in quality workmanship, looking after our customers and supporting each other to get the job done. If you want to be more than just a number and truly contribute to a business investing in its future, this is the place for you.

This is a diverse, hands-on role where no two days are the same. Alongside general servicing and both minor and major mechanical repairs, you will occasionally provide customer support while helping to promote a safe, clean and organised environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
