Working Pattern: 5 days a week onsite, with core hours between 8am to 6pm.
The Role
As a Womenswear Designer (Loungewear & Nightwear) at Next Sourcing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual and aesthetic identity of our upcoming collections. This is a fast-paced, highly creative 12-month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) with an ideal start date in October, where your designs will directly impact what lands on the high street.
Next Sourcing are at the heart of finding, developing and delivering the products our customers love, wear and use every day. Located across the globe, our Next Sourcing teams specialise in all different parts of the sourcing operation, from design and technology to product development.
What You’ll Take On
- Design original, standout concepts across Loungewear and Nightwear, reacting quickly to design briefs and producing fast-turnaround, commercial ranges.
- Research and translate global fashion trends, fabrications, and colour palettes into elevated, cosy, and stylish products tailored to the Next customer.
- Utilise excellent hand-painting techniques alongside advanced CAD work to build versatile, production-ready prints, graphics, and garment designs.
- Collaborate daily with buyers, sourcing teams, and external factories to ensure collections are delivered on time, within cost parameters, and to exact technical specifications.
- Drive both core line development and project-based capsule collections, multi-tasking effectively to meet critical path deadlines.
What You’ll Bring
- A beautiful, feminine yet cool design handwriting that perfectly balances comfort with contemporary style.
- A proven track record (retailer or supplier background) designing Loungewear, Nightwear, or relevant apparel for a high volume, similar sized fashion retailer.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, with strong CAD skills to bring diverse artistic concepts and garment shapes to life.
- A strong graphics and print eye, ideally supported by hand-painting ability to create unique, in-house textile designs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a confident approach to working with cross-functional teams, external suppliers, and factories.
- Superb organisation skills and the resilience to stay calm, focused, and creative during peak, high-pressure deadlines.
