Working Pattern: Typically 5 days in the office, with core hours flexible between 8am-6pm.

The Role

Are you a creative and forward-thinking designer with a passion for translating the latest print trends into beautiful, commercial products? If so, keep reading as this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

As a Womenswear Print Designer for The Set, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of Next’s groundbreaking own brand. The Set delivers effortless, sophisticated, timeless, and affordable pieces designed to mix and match seamlessly. We believe great design should be accessible to everyone, and your prints will be at the heart of this mission.

Based at our creative hub, The Barn in Market Harborough, you will join an ambitious team with exciting growth plans already underway. You’ll work closely with buying, design, and garment tech teams to bring stunning print concepts to life, balancing high-end creative flair with sharp commercial awareness.

What You’ll Take On

  • Design and Innovate: Create and develop inspiring, forward-thinking womenswear print and pattern collections that align perfectly with The Set’s handwriting and brand direction.
  • Trend Research: Actively research global fashion, street style, runway, and social media trends to identify emerging print, colour, and textile directions.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with the Design, Buying & Tech teams to translate seasonal product directions into cohesive, commercially viable print ranges.
  • CAD Creation: Produce high-quality, production-ready CAD artwork, colourways, and repeat patterns using design software.
  • Sample Management: Liaise with suppliers and buying teams to oversee print submissions, strike offs, and fabric bases, ensuring accurate execution and strict deadline adherence.
  • Present Ideas: Assist with internal presentations and trend forecasting boards, confidently sharing your print concepts with key stakeholders.
  • Drive Growth: Constantly look for new opportunities to strengthen the brand's aesthetic, keeping both the bigger picture and the finer details central to your design process.

What You’ll Bring

  • Creative Flair: A deep, natural love for fashion, design, and textile trends, with a keen eye for colour, composition, and print placement.
  • Versatile Experience: A strong background in print design. While a focus on womenswear is ideal, we highly encourage applications from candidates with a background in childrenswear print, provided your style is transferable and you can demonstrate a strong aesthetic shift toward contemporary womenswear.
  • Technical Skill: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator).
  • Organisation & Pace: The ability to prioritise a busy workload, manage multiple deadlines simultaneously, and stay agile in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build great relationships, confidently share your ideas, and take on feedback.
  • Commercial Sharpness: A balanced approach that blends creative innovation with an understanding of the Next customer and online retail market.
  • Education: Ideally degree-level educated in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related discipline.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
