The Role
We are seeking a reliable and proactive freelance WordPress developer to work alongside our marketing team and in-house designer on an ongoing basis. The role will involve building new sections and pages of the website, redesigning existing sections of the website which are underperforming, implementing new functionality, and ensuring a high-quality user experience across desktop and mobile devices. This is a flexible, project-based engagement with a steady stream of work as our website continues to evolve.
Responsibilities
- Build new pages within WordPress
- Redesign and enhance existing pages based on approved designs
- Translate Figma designs into responsive, production-ready web pages
- Create reusable page templates and content components
- Implement website updates, enhancements, and new functionality
- Ensure all pages are fully responsive across devices and browsers
- Optimise page speed, performance, and accessibility
- Troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues and bugs
- Work within existing brand guidelines and design systems
- Collaborate closely with our in-house designer (3 days per week) and our international marketing team
- Test changes thoroughly before deployment and maintain website quality standards
- Managing mirrored websites across regions
- Synchronizing content between global and regional instances

Requirements
Technical Skills
- Minimum 5 years' experience developing and maintaining WordPress websites
- Strong knowledge of WordPress themes, templates, and page builders
- Advanced HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills
- Experience creating responsive, mobile-first websites
- Strong understanding of website performance optimisation
- Experience working with staging and production environments
- Familiarity with SEO and AEO best practices and technical SEO and AEO considerations
- Must be able to build and apply custom functionality where required
- Experience with multi-site WordPress environments, website mirroring, international deployments.
Industry Experience
We are particularly interested in developers who have experience working on:
- B2B SaaS websites
- Data and analytics platforms
- Financial services websites
- Research and intelligence businesses
This experience is highly valuable as it demonstrates an understanding of complex product portfolios, content-heavy websites, lead generation requirements, and the user experience expectations of a professional audience.

Nice to Have
- Experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
- Experience with Google Tag Manager (GTM)
- HubSpot, Salesforce, or CRM integration experience
- Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) experience
- Experience working with multinational or enterprise organisations
- Understanding of financial markets, economic research, business intelligence, or data products
Engagement Details
- Freelance engagement
- Flexible hours based on project requirements
- Ongoing relationship preferred
- Remote working acceptable but must be available during normal UK working hours (Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm)
- Must also be available for regular collaboration and communication
