About the Role

As an Employability and Wellbeing Volunteer, you will play an important role in supporting people across York and North Yorkshire to improve their confidence, wellbeing, and employment opportunities. Working alongside our team, you will help deliver workshops, engage with local employers and community partners, and provide practical support to individuals on their journey towards achieving their goals.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference while gaining valuable experience in employability, wellbeing, and community engagement.

Key Duties

  • Support the delivery of employability and wellbeing activities across York and North Yorkshire.
  • Assist with organising and facilitating workshops focused on employment, confidence, health, and financial wellbeing.
  • Provide encouragement and practical support to help individuals overcome barriers to employment.
  • Represent the organisation at community events and promote available services.
  • Support the development and maintenance of relationships with local employers.
  • Engage with employers to answer queries and promote the strengths and abilities of service users.
  • Help challenge stigma and barriers faced by underrepresented groups seeking employment.
  • Contribute to a person-centred approach to support, including the principles of Individual Placement and Support (IPS).
  • Participate in mock interviews and provide constructive, supportive feedback.
  • Work with community organisations and partners to strengthen local opportunities and networks.
  • Support both office-based and remote activities as part of a hybrid working model.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers, sharing ideas to improve services.
  • Assist with caseload management and service user support under guidance from the team.
