Role: Work Experience Coordinator – Maternity Cover

Location: Tresham College – Kettering and Corby Campuses

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £25,585 and £30,915 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave (Pro-Rata) plus Bank holidays, People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 27.5 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Fixed Term – Part Time – Fixed until 05 November 2027

About The Role

We are currently seeking a Work Experience Coordinator to join our Student Services department at The Bedford College Group as Maternity Cover.

As a Work Experience Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Work Placement Coordination & Employer Engagement - Source and secure high-quality work experience, industry placements, and work-related opportunities that support student development, employability, and curriculum requirements.
  • Placement Quality, Safeguarding & Compliance - Ensure all placements meet health & safety, safeguarding, funding, and awarding body requirements, with suitable supervision and safe working environments for students.
  • Student Support & Progress Monitoring - Monitor student performance and engagement during placements, providing feedback to curriculum teams and supporting positive placement outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration - Work closely with employers, students, parents, curriculum teams, and business development colleagues to manage enquiries, coordinate placements, and maintain effective relationships.
  • Data Management & Quality Assurance - Maintain accurate placement records and databases, use college systems to track activity, prepare documentation for audits and inspections, and contribute to continuous improvement and college standards.

About You

Qualifications & Knowledge Base - GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), a Level 2 qualification, and sound knowledge of Health & Safety at Work requirements and workplace compliance standards.

Employer Engagement & Administrative Experience - Experience handling enquiries, liaising with employers and placement providers, maintaining accurate records, producing reports, and managing high workloads under pressure.

Communication & Relationship Building - Strong communication skills across face-to-face, telephone, and written channels, with the ability to provide guidance, resolve issues, and build positive relationships with students, employers, and colleagues.

Organisation, Problem Solving & Professionalism - Highly organised and adaptable, with the ability to solve problems, manage competing priorities, work professionally, and uphold the organisation’s values of Customer Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness, and Honesty.

Safeguarding, Flexibility & Development - Committed to safeguarding, equality and diversity, maintaining professional boundaries, continuous learning, flexible working, and travelling across Northamptonshire sites as required.
