Your Role

Horizons College is an innovative and inclusive specialist education provider for learners aged 16-25 with learning difficulties and complex needs. We proudly opened our campus in Royal Wootton Bassett's Interface Business Park in September 2022 and were rated "Good" by Ofsted in March 2024. Which was a fantastic achievement which our team were proud of on our journey to success.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Work Experience & Destinations Officer to support the delivery of high-quality work experience, careers, and destination programmes across the college.

Working closely with the Careers Manager and Work Experience Team, you will play a key role in securing meaningful work placement opportunities, developing employer relationships, monitoring learner progress, and tracking post-college destinations. You will help ensure learners gain valuable workplace experiences that enhance their employability skills and support successful progression into employment, further education, training, or apprenticeships.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting learners and building strong partnerships with employers and external organisations.

At Horizons College, our mission is clear: Empowering learners to shape their future, and this role is critical in helping us achieve that vision. If this mission resonates with you as an education professional ready for the next step in your career - we want to hear from you.

Hours: 22.5 hrs per week

Actual Salary: £13,809.59 - £15,460.43 per annum

Interview Date: As received

Training: It is important to us to ensure you feel valued and supported. Full training appropriate to the role will be provided.

Please see the attached Job Description for full details of the responsibilities and expectations of this role.

In the first instance we would welcome your application via SAM People Recruit. However, if you are unable to complete the application on this platform, please contact the team using resourcingswindon@brunel.org.uk or 01793 268820 and we will be able to issue a Word version of the application form for completion and return by the deadline. Unfortunately, in line with Safer Recruitment, we are unable to accept CVs.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
