Work Placement Coordinator/Assessor Childcare
Department: Health, Creative Industries, Digital & Protective Services Location: Hugh Baird College - Main Campus, Liverpool Type: Part-Time, Permanent (14 hours per week) Compensation: £12,000 per year (£30,000 FT equivalent) Application Deadline: 31 July 2026

We are seeking a passionate Work Placement Coordinator/Assessor to support learners in the childcare sector across Level 2, Level 3, and T Level Early Years Educator programmes.
This dynamic role involves:
- Coordinating and assessing student placements in real-world nursery environments
- Ensuring high-quality early years education through innovative methodologies
- Supporting students in Level 1–3 qualifications and T-levels through hands-on mentoring
- Assessing competence in alignment with awarding body criteria
Our campus features a brand-new nursery, forest school visits, and unique programmes like literacy-enhanced yoga, offering a rich array of engaging learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities
- Organise, monitor, and assess student placements across programmes
- Develop and identify high-quality placement opportunities
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure health & safety compliance
- Engage with learners to align placement goals with curriculum outcomes
- Assess competence using competency-based frameworks, documenting and recording findings (timely submission imperative)
- Collaborate with curriculum teams and employers to uphold quality standards
Requirements & Criteria
- Qualifications:
- Level 3 (or equivalent) in a vocational relevant area
- Assessor qualifications (A1/V1) required
- Skills & Experience:
- Strong communication and organisational abilities
- Experience in assessing competence-based training (ideally in childcare)
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively
- Demonstrated experience in assessing childcare qualifications in the workplace (Full context in person specification)
