Principal Consultant – Workday Adaptive Planning

The Principal Consultant will "bridge the gap" between business and technical teams, solving complex Workday Adaptive Planning challenges while guiding clients through transformation, implementation, and operational phases.


Key Responsibilities

  • Guide clients through facilitated design sessions and configuration decisions, applying best practices while tailoring solutions to meet unique business requirements across all project stages.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from legacy systems to Workday Adaptive Planning, engaging with clients throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Manage multiple tasks independently, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and changes to clients, project teams, and Engagement Managers.
  • Assume leadership roles, including Partner Lead or Delivery Assurance Reviewer.
  • Demonstrate hands-on expertise in Workday, covering data management, tenant-to-tenant configuration migration, and business process and security configuration.
  • Apply technical skills to convert and map data sources into Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Mentor and support consultants and analysts, including ad hoc assignments and guidance.
  • Actively participate in training and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance skills and organisational capability.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required by the manager.

Skills and Requirements

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent).
  • 4+ years of Workday functional implementation experience.
  • 4+ years implementing functional solutions with EPM or SaaS software.
  • Experience in gathering business requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines.
  • 4+ years of Financial/Management Accounting or FP&A experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Additional Considerations

  • Minimal travel required, but willingness to travel on-site as needed.
  • Eligible for security clearance—must have been a UK resident for the last five years and be legally entitled to work in the UK.
