Role Description
Workday Certified Senior Project Manager (HCM & Payroll)
Location: United Kingdom (Remote)
Start Date: ASAP
Employment Type: Permanent
We are seeking an experienced Workday Certified Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of Workday transformation programmes for enterprise clients. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end implementation lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with client stakeholders, delivery teams, and Workday partners, you will drive governance, manage project risks, oversee milestone approvals, and ensure clients realise maximum value from their Workday investment. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Workday professional who thrives in a client-facing, consultative environment and enjoys leading complex, multi-stream implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple concurrent Workday implementation projects from initiation through go-live.
- Establish and manage project governance, plans, budgets, resources, risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Collaborate with client project teams to achieve key milestones, including design sign-off, testing approvals, and deployment readiness.
- Identify and proactively mitigate risks that could impact project scope, timelines, quality, or budget.
- Ensure compliance with Workday implementation methodology and delivery assurance requirements.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, promoting Workday best practices and driving successful adoption.
- Present project updates and recommendations to executive stakeholders and project teams.
- Support business development activities, including solution scoping, delivery planning, statements of work (SOWs), and change requests.
- Manage project financial performance and ensure delivery remains aligned to contractual commitments.
- Mentor and provide guidance to Project Managers and delivery team members.
- Identify opportunities to expand client engagement through additional services and solutions.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.

Required Skills & Experience
- Current Workday Project Manager Certification and active Workday Partner Certification.
- Minimum 3 years' experience managing Workday implementations, including HCM, Payroll, Financials, or related modules.
- Proven experience delivering projects for medium to large enterprise organisations.
- Strong understanding of Workday implementation methodology and project governance frameworks.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a consulting or professional services environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage senior leaders.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets, change requests, and delivery profitability.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences and building long-term client relationships.

Desirable Experience
- Experience delivering Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, or other enterprise ERP/HCM implementations.
- Knowledge of one or more functional areas including:
- Human Resources
- Payroll
- Benefits Administration
- Finance & General Ledger
- Accounts Payable/Receivable
- Procurement or Services Procurement
- Previous consulting and/or professional services experience.
- Experience supporting pre-sales, business development, or service delivery growth initiatives.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent project management qualifications.
