Interim Director, Workday Centre of Excellence
Contract: 6–12 months
Location: UK-based
We need a senior leader to stand up our Workday Centre of Excellence. You'll design the operating model, establish governance, and transition Workday from programme delivery into a fully operational BAU service—ensuring the platform is supportable from day one and set up for continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Build the CoE — Define the operating model, org structure, roles and governance; recruit the permanent team
- Lead service introduction — Operational readiness, hypercare, Service Desk integration, incident/change/release management, SLAs, runbooks, DR/BC alignment
- Establish governance — Configuration, release, security, integrations, data quality, compliance, vendor management
- Own the AMS strategy — Supplier selection, commercial governance, performance management; reduce external dependency over time
- Partner with senior stakeholders — CIO, CHRO, CFO, Programme Director and leaders across HR, Finance, Tech and Ops

What You Bring
- Track record establishing or transforming a Workday Centre of Excellence
- Operational leadership of Workday HCM and Financials in a medium-to-large enterprise
- Experience transitioning Workday from implementation into BAU
- Strong grasp of Workday governance, release/config management, integrations, security and AMS
- ITIL knowledge; enterprise SaaS service transition experience
- Executive stakeholder management across HR, Finance and Technology
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
