MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE BUSINESS
As a Workday Consultant with expertise in Recruitment and/or Benefits at Kainos, you will be responsible for supporting the successful:
- Specification
- Design
- Configuration
of enterprise-scale Workday product solutions. This will involve working with internal delivery teams to provide solutions that are:
- Fit for purpose
- Commercially viable
Understanding and translating customer requirements, as well as hands-on product configuration, is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support enterprise-scale Workday product solutions (such as HR, Financials, or Payroll) through specification, design, and configuration
- Collaborate with internal delivery teams to ensure solutions meet business needs and commercial viability
- Translate customer requirements into actionable design specifications for Workday products
- Participate in hands-on configuration of the Workday platform to bring solutions to life
- Maintain clarity on customer needs and business goals throughout the design lifecycle
- Work within remote and hybrid teams, ensuring seamless collaboration with both internal colleagues and external customers
- Keep abreast of Workday developments and encourage adoption of industry best practices

What We Are Looking For
Essential Criteria
- Very good understanding of Workday product, including:
- HCM (Human Capital Management)
- Financials
- Payroll
- Recruitment
- Benefits processes
- Very good customer-facing experience in a consulting or advisory role, including:
- Ability to build strong relationships
- Understanding of when to escalate issues
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to:
- Clearly and effectively explain solutions and functionality to customers and colleagues
- Maintain transparency, empathy, and credibility within remote working situations
- Commercial awareness with a sound grasp of:
- Project and business dynamics
- Operational efficiency and cost effectiveness
- Self-managed individual contributor able to:
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Plan own workload and consistently meet deadlines with no supervision
- Experience in established consulting techniques, such as:
- Facilitating workshops
- Presenting to customers
- Explaining complex product features or configurations
- Ability to:
- Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and detail in all activities
- Adhere to relevant Kainos policies and Workday configuration standards
- Awareness of core principles of confidentiality and non-disclosure:
- Ensures security of project-related data at all times
- Respects any contractual requirements related to information protection
- Understanding of Kainos’:
- Corporate story
- Overall product and service offerings
- Awareness of and alignment with Kainos’ business strategy and objectives
- Proactive mindset to:
- Identify areas within projects or processes for improvement
- Propose tools or process optimisations to enhance team efficiency
- Willingness to develop deeper knowledge in specialised areas, including:
- International regulatory requirements
- Compliance frameworks relevant to Workday implementations
- Ability to rotate across various Workday delivery services, specifically:
- Consulting services
- Application Management Services (for maintaining systems post-deployment)
- For Application Management Services, commit to meeting defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Availability to travel to customer sites as needed:
- Required for on-site work in the same region (and potentially some out-of-region assignments)

- Certification in relevant Workday modules (e.g., HCM, Financials, or Payroll)
- Professional qualifications, such as:
- Workday Partner Certifications
- Related engineering or business credentials
- Experience within post-deployment services, including:
- Maintenance and enhancement of Workday solutions
- Ongoing Workday administration and support
