Workday Payroll Technical Analyst - London (1x Per Week) - Financial Services - £75,000 Per Annum
I'm currently partnering with a leading global financial services organisation to recruit a Workday Payroll Technical Analyst. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the implementation and ongoing development of the company's UK Workday Payroll platform.
This is not a payroll processing role. Instead, you'll be responsible for the technical ownership of Workday Payroll, working closely with HR, Payroll, Finance and Technology teams to configure, enhance and optimise the platform while ensuring it remains compliant and fit for future growth.
The Role
As the Workday Payroll Technical Analyst, you'll be responsible for:
- Supporting the implementation and ongoing enhancement of Workday Payroll for the UK.
- Configuring and maintaining Workday Payroll, including earnings, deductions, pay groups, calendars and payroll rules.
- Building and supporting integrations using EIB, Core Connectors and/or Studio.
- Troubleshooting system and integration issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
- Supporting Workday releases, testing and continuous platform improvements.
- Developing reports and calculated fields to support payroll and business reporting.
- Working closely with HR, Payroll, Finance and Technology stakeholders to deliver scalable Workday solutions.
- Identifying opportunities to automate and improve payroll-related processes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
