Job Title: Workday Product Owner (12 Month Contract)
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Duration: 12-month day rate contract – Outside IR35
Location: Gloucester
About the Role
Benefact Group are seeking a Workday Product Owner to join our Gloucester office on a 12-month Outside IR35 contract basis.
The Workday Product Owner will take ownership of a newly implemented Workday platform and support its evolution into a mature, enterprise-wide service.
Following a successful Finance go-live, the focus of this engagement includes:
- Stabilise and optimise the live Finance platform
- Establish a clear product roadmap, backlog, and governance model
- Maximise value from existing capabilities
- Define and prepare the operating model, processes, and controls required for future rollout to HR and broader Group functions
While HR and wider adoption will not be implemented in this engagement, the role is critical in ensuring the platform and processes are designed and ready for scaling into a global Finance and HR solution.
Key Responsibilities
The Workday Product Owner will:
- Work in partnership with a Service Manager to manage a third-party AMS provider
- Operate within internal systems, delivery processes, and governance frameworks (including release governance)
- Partner with the Finance department to support the embedding of the system with the userbase
- Lead on product direction, prioritisasi, and value optimisation, while consulting on future expansion

Deliverables
- Define and secure approval for a Finance-led Workday product roadmap, including a clear pathway for future HR and enterprise rollout
- Establish and maintain a prioritised, value-based backlog and demand management process aligned with internal governance
- Partner with the Service Manager to define and optimise the AMS operating model and supplier performance framework
- Deliver controlled, successful deployment of standard Workday releases into production in line with internal release governance
- Drive measurable improvements in Finance processes, data quality, and automation through targeted platform enhancements
- Produce a future rollout blueprint for HR and wider Group adoption, including operating model, processes, and dependencies
