The Role

We are seeking an experienced Workday Solution Architect to support the successful delivery of Workday projects across a variety of client environments.

In this role, you will work closely with customers, project teams, and functional consultants to design scalable and effective Workday solutions that align with business requirements and best practices. You will provide architectural guidance throughout the implementation lifecycle, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose, efficient, and aligned with customer objectives.

This is a hands-on delivery-focused role suited to an experienced Workday professional with strong functional and solution design expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of Workday solutions across client projects
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable Workday solutions
  • Provide functional and architectural guidance throughout the implementation lifecycle
  • Support configuration design across key Workday modules including HCM, Compensation, Absence, Talent, and Recruitment
  • Advise on Workday best practices, business processes, security, reporting, and integrations
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure successful delivery, testing, and deployment activities
  • Support solution reviews, design documentation, and governance activities
  • Collaborate with technical and integration teams to ensure seamless data flow between Workday and third-party systems
  • Identify opportunities for optimisation and continuous improvement within Workday solutions
  • Contribute to troubleshooting and resolution of complex functional and system design issues

As a member of the VR team, you will have the flexibility to manage your own day, as long as you meet your set objectives and client demands. Often your team will be a mix of on-site and remote-based members who will connect using IM, video calls, and an online ticketing system. Good communication skills and time management are essential for this role.

Skills Required

Our roles are remotely based, meaning you will be working from your home office, connecting with your client and team on a daily basis. To be successful in this type of environment, you will need to have the ability to communicate effectively (in English) with cross-functional teams, explain complex concepts in easy, understandable terms, align HR / business knowledge with Workday functionality, and proactively drive process improvements. You will need to be comfortable with video calls and be proactive in keeping communication channels open with your client and team.

Must-Have Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on Workday experience within consulting or multiple client environments as a Senior Functional Consultant or Workday Solution Architect
  • Proven experience delivering multiple end-to-end Workday implementations
  • Strong client-facing consulting and stakeholder management skills
  • In-depth understanding of Workday functionality across HCM, Compensation, Absence, Performance, Talent Acquisition, Security, Reporting, and Business Process Configuration
  • Strong understanding of Workday solution architecture and design principles
  • Experience with Workday integrations and related technologies including EIB, Web Services, REST APIs
  • Experience supporting testing, deployment, and post-go-live activities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced project environments
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality client outcomes
  • Experience working within a consultancy or professional services environment

Other Qualifications / Skills that will be beneficial

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration) or equivalent experience
  • Workday certifications, such as Workday HCM, Compensation, Absence Management, or Talent Acquisition, are highly desirable
  • Exposure to global Workday deployments and transformation programmes
  • Knowledge of additional HR technologies and integration ecosystems
  • Experience working within Agile or hybrid project delivery environments

As this is a remote role, you can be based anywhere in the EMEA time zone, so long as you are authorized to work in the country without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
