Role Overview
Contract Type: Permanent Hours of Work: 40 hours, Mon-Fri Closing Date: 24th July 2026
A vacancy has arisen for a Working Supervisor to join our team with Severn Trent Frameworks, working under Severn Trent Water (STW) and Hargreaves Industrial Services (HIS).
The Working Supervisor role is responsible for:
- Supervising small teams to execute engineering projects within STW Framework and the HIS Engineering Team.
- Ensuring high-quality, safe project delivery while adhering to budget, programme, and cost constraints.
Key Responsibilities

Day-to-Day Operations
- Oversee team productivity and operational efficiency.

Safety Leadership
- Ensure safe deployment of teams by maintaining health, safety, and quality standards.
- Promote a proactive safety culture aligned with a zero harm commitment.
- Certify all safety documentation (RAMS, POWRA, etc.) is up to date.

Project Delivery
- Coordinate with clients, HIS Framework Managers, and Project Managers to communicate progress and address issues.
- Oversee projects from initial planning through to completion.
- Ensure high standards of workmanship and technical execution.

- Efficiency & Innovation
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovations.
- Support project tools and records, including:
- Inspection and test plans
- Project programmes
- Risk registers
- Documented reports
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential:
- Minimum five years’ experience in supervising staff.
- Formal qualifications in mechanical/electrical disciplines (e.g., apprenticeship route).
- Strong supervisory experience and leadership skills.
- Preference for candidates with:
- Forklift (FLT) license.
- CDM Awareness Training.
- Additional credentials in welding, rigging, slinging, or confined space entry.
Technical & Practical:
- Experience setting teams to work safely and managing associated paperwork (RAMS, risk assessments, POWRA, etc.).
- Ability to drive efficient delivery under schedule and budgetary constraints.
- Technical competency to oversee projects to completion.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills (all levels).
- Commitment to zero harm and proactive safety culture.
- Strong teamwork ethic.
- Innovative thinking in problem-solving.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
