Working Supervisor - Severne Trent (Vacancy Ref. HIS3399)

Job Details

  • Post Type: Permanent
  • Hours: 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri)
  • Closing Date: 24th July 2026

About the Role

A vacancy has arisen for a Working Supervisor to join our team with Severn Trent Frameworks. This role involves supervising small teams of staff to deliver engineering projects within the STW Framework and Hargreaves Industrial Services (HIS) engineering team. The successful candidate will ensure work is completed to a high standard, safely, and within cost and programme constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operational duties of the team
  • Ensure safe deployment of the team, maintaining health, safety, and quality standards
  • Deliver work to the highest quality on time and within budget
  • Communicate with clients, HIS Framework, and Project Managers on progress and issues
  • Promote proactive safety, aiming for a zero harm culture
  • Drive efficiencies and innovation where possible
  • Provide inspection and test plans, project programmes, and risk assessments

Requirements

Experience / CriteriaNotes
Minimum 5 years’ experience supervising staffEssential
Preferred mechanical or electrical qualificationsIncluding apprenticeship routes
Supervisory experience and skillsStrong leadership ability required
FLT licence (preferable)
CDM awareness trainingMandatory
Welding, rigging, slinging, confined space training (preferred)Experience due or to be completed
Ability to set and oversee safe operational teamsCompletion of RAMS and POWRA required
Project delivery expertiseAbility to steer projects to successful completion
Strong communication skillsMust engage effectively at all levels
Commitment to safetyPositive mindset towards health and safety
Team player mentalityAdaptable, flexible, and resilient to pressure
Flexibility & innovationComfortable managing diverse personalities and adapting to change
