Working Supervisor

Working Supervisor – Permanent Role (Severn Trent Frameworks)

Vacancy Ref.: HIS3399

Hours of Work: 40 hours (Mon-Fri) Closing Date: 24th July 2026


About the Role

A Working Supervisor position has become available within the Severn Trent Frameworks team through Hargreaves Industrial Services.

The Working Supervisor will:

  • Lead small teams in executing engineering projects aligned with Severn Trent Water (STW) Framework and the broader Hargreaves Industrial Services (HIS) team.
  • Oversee tasks to ensure safety, quality, timeliness, and adherence to cost and programme constraints.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operational functions of the team.
  • Ensure safe deployment of personnel, maintaining health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Oversee high-standard execution of all tasks.
  • Act as a liaison between:
    • Clients
    • HIS Framework Project Manager
    • Reporting progress or resolving issues.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture, contributing to a zero-harm objective.
  • Support timely project delivery.
  • Identify operational efficiencies and foster innovation.
  • Contribute directly to project documentation, including:
    • Inspection and test plans
    • Project programmes
    • Risk registers

Requirements

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum five years’ experience supervising mechanical/electrical engineering teams.
  • Mechanical or electrical qualifications obtained via the apprenticeship route.
  • Strong team leadership and supervisory skills.

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

  • FLT (Forklift) licence.
  • CDM (Construction (Design and Management) Regulations) Awareness Training.
  • Welding/rigging/slinging/confined space training highly favourerable.

Core Competencies & Attributes

  • Ability to set and manage teams safely, ensuring all documentation is completed (e.g., RAMS, POWRA).
  • Dexterity to supervise projects from initiation to finalisation.
  • Strong multilevel communication skills (external/external client needs).
  • Unwavering commitment to safety with the 'zero harm' mentality.
  • Resilient team player with adaptability to diverse personalities, pressures, and deadlines.
