Working Supervisor – Severn Trent Frameworks (VACANCY REF: HIS3399)

Contract Details

  • Position: Permanent
  • Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (Mon–Fri)
  • Closing Date: 24 July 2026

About the Role

A vacancy has arisen for a Working Supervisor to join our team with Severn Trent Frameworks.

The Working Supervisor role is responsible for supervising small teams of staff to execute engineering projects within the Severn Trent Water (STW) Framework and engineering team of Hargreaves Industrial Services (HIS). Your key focus will be ensuring that projects comply with high-quality standards, health, safety, and cost constraints while meeting programme timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operational duties of the assigned team
  • Ensure safe deployment of team members, maintaining all health, safety, and quality standards
  • Guarantee completion of work to a high standard
  • Facilitate communication between clients, HIS Framework Managers, and Project Managers regarding progress and any issues
  • Promote a proactive safety culture, contributing to a zero harm goal on all projects
  • Assist in ensuring timely project delivery
  • Identify efficiencies and innovations to improve processes
  • Provide necessary information for key project tools, including:
    • Inspection and test plans
    • Project programmes
    • Risk registers

Requirements & Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills, experience, and attributes:

  • Minimum five years’ experience supervising staff
  • Formal qualifications in mechanical or electrical engineering, preferably obtained via the apprenticeship route
  • Strong supervisory experience
  • road haulage licence (FLT) preferred
  • CDM awareness training
  • Welding/Rigging/Slinging/Confined Space training preferred
  • Ability to draft and enforce safety documentation (e.g., Risk Assessments, Method Statements)
  • Capacity to oversee projects from start to finish
  • Outstanding communication skills at all work levels
  • Positive and health-and-safety-focused mindset
  • Team player with problem-solving abilities
  • Innovative and proactive approach
  • Adaptability to diverse team dynamics
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
