We're reimagining the way Australians live, work, and play.

We own and manage some of the most recognisable and loved retail destinations across Australia. We’re evolving our portfolio into destinations that offer a broad selection of retail, residential, and office spaces. Through our diverse portfolio, data-led decision-making, and nationwide development pipeline, we do things differently. We are Vicinity.

Role purpose

For an established Workplace Relations (WR) professional, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex ER case management and workplace relations support across the business. As part of our Wellbeing and Workplace Relations team, you’ll bring sound WR knowledge, investigation experience, and practical judgement, we’ll bring the opportunities to strengthen and broaden your capabilities.

About the Role

  • Guide and manage employee relations casework end to end, including misconduct, workplace grievances, performance matters, conduct concerns, and other sensitive workplace issues.
  • Support and conduct workplace investigations, including evidence gathering, interviews, documentation, and outcome recommendations that align with legal, procedural, and organisational requirements.
  • Act as a trusted WR partner through sensitive and nuanced matters, balancing fairness, compliance, people impact, and business needs.
  • Provide clear and practical WR advice to people leaders, team members, HR Business Partners, and People team stakeholders.
  • Support in embedding a new reporting and ER case management platform, improving visibility, consistency, and discipline in how matters are captured, managed, and progressed.
  • Contribute to the refinement of team workflows, triage processes, investigation practices, templates, and toolkits to support a more consistent and effective WR response.
  • As you grow your influence in the role, contribute to broader WR and People initiatives, including project work connected to psychosocial risk, process improvement, and capability uplift.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You

We’re looking for a Workplace Relations specialist with at least two years’ experience, ideally with exposure to both corporate and dispersed operations workforces. You’ll also bring:

  • Strong capability in conducting workplace investigations and understanding of the importance of procedural fairness, evidence analysis, confidentiality, accurate documentation, and sound judgement.
  • Sound knowledge of the Fair Work Act, workplace relations requirements, flexible work obligations, procedural fairness, and practical ER risk considerations.
  • Ability to interpret awards, legislation, ER policies, and internal frameworks, then translate them into clear, confident, and actionable advice.
  • Confidence in engaging with leaders, employees, People Business Partners, and broader People team stakeholders through sensitive or high-trust conversations.
  • Strong case management discipline, including the ability to assess issues, identify risk, manage competing priorities, document clearly, and move matters forward.

If you’re ready to bring established WR capability into a role where your judgement matters, your ownership is visible, and your contribution will help shape how Workplace Relations support and expertise is delivered, we’d welcome your application. This is an opportunity to strengthen your specialist WR career while playing a meaningful role in elevating case response, process discipline, and practical support for the business.
