The Role

Reporting to the Senior Workplace Technical Manager, you will play a key part in enabling us to deliver premium workspace experience for our customers. Getting the basics right is important. To do that, you will have responsibility for making sure our workspaces are well run and maintained. You will manage by example, setting the standard for delivering brilliant customer experiences by creating productive and enjoyable environments in some of our most prestigious workspaces across the UK

Creating a workspace that provides an exceptional experience is our priority, so it is vital that you promote and maintain positive relationships with our customers and local communities. As a result, you will provide a responsive and proactive service to customers and internal stakeholders working with appointed service partners.

The Team

You will be responsible for supporting the Workplace Manager to deliver the technical performance of several Landsec assets within London, ensuring all properties and the estate are well maintained, safe and compliant.

What you will be responsible for:

Engineering Strategy

  • Support the Senior Workplace Technical Manager to ensure the M&E contractor maintains all equipment on site in line with all H&S regulatory compliance guidelines and advises where upgrades or replacements are required to ensure these standards continue to be met as guidance changes.

Customer Experience

  • Manage positive relationships with occupiers ensuring they understand the technical operation of the building and their responsibilities for maintenance and repair.
  • Ensure appropriate communications are issued to all parties during any projects and ongoing maintenance tasks.
  • Support customers with all technical queries ensuring excellent customer service levels at all times.
  • Work with customers to support their energy reduction plans.
  • Review occupiers’ proposals for demise alterations and assist the Building Surveyors with consents.
  • Manage occupiers’ connections to landlord systems to protect our Landsec assets during fit out and witness on completion.

Operational Efficiencies & Decarbonisation

  • Reduce the operational energy intensity of the managed properties to 145kWh/m2 by 2030.
  • Designs reflect current best practice for the effective and efficient operational management of the development at handover. All to the current workplace methodologies employed by our operations team and service partners.
  • Collaborate with the key stakeholders and Senior Workplace Technical Manager and Landsec Engineering colleagues to map out a decarbonization strategy for Media City.

Service Partner Management

  • Proactively ensure our ‘Hard Services’ Service Partners are regularly reviewed, and that SLA’s are being appropriately managed and monitored.
  • Positively influence the culture of the business, role modelling the ability to learn, develop and apply new skills, embrace new ways of working and collaborating across functions.
  • Data Management.
  • The customer experience remains at the forefront of designs.

Projects

  • Supporting the Senior Workplace Technical Manager to ensure all major works projects are fully appraised and costed for sign off and are included as part of the 5-year business plan budgeting process.
  • This role will support with major works across the responsible assets with involvement at the design, implementation, and operational stages to minimise the impact on other colleagues and occupiers.
  • Responsibility for ensuring the future proofing of the fabric of the buildings across the estate.

Technical Expertise

  • Be a subject matter expert and offer your knowledge and experience to Customers and colleagues to support their own needs and requirements for service excellence.

Your skills, experience and qualifications:

Essential Criteria

  • Proven track record of working within a team.
  • Ability to work with people at all levels of the business to achieve results.
  • A high standard of computer literacy will be required.
  • Willingness to work outside of ‘normal’ office hours.
  • City & Guilds Electrical/Mechanical Qualification.

Desired Criteria

  • HND/HNC in a relevant engineering field.
  • CIBSE Membership.
  • Current / Previous HVAP.
