Job Title: Works Manager/Site Manager

Department: Bethell Construction

Location: Manchester/Greater Manchester area

What Will The Role Involve?

We are looking for a Works Manager to join us on a permanent basis with a background of supervising construction projects in highways environments. With continued long-term frameworks in place, we offer guaranteed continuity of work in the north west area of England.

In this role, you will assist in the management of key project deliverables whilst ensuring compliance with all quality procedures and safe working practices, undertaking all works to the highest possible Health, Safety and Environmental standards, whilst safeguarding the wellbeing of employees.

  • You’ll be an ambassador for the company and maintain an organised, clean and tidy site layout that promotes a positive image of both the company and our clients.
  • You’ll show respect to all site workers and implement measures to maintain a high morale amongst the workforce.

In this role, you will carry out regular site inspections to ensure quality standards are being maintained and ensure accurate site records are kept and accurately filed at the end of a project. You’ll also be expected to conduct weekly checks of all plant and equipment on site and inform the Plant Department of any discrepancies on their weekly published plant record. You will also be expected to keep accurate diaries, photographs and other documentation as necessary to record progress on site and ensure that these records are uploaded onto the Company servers in a timely manner.

What Key Skills & Experience Are We Looking For?

Essential

  • Minimum Gold Card CSCS accreditation
  • SMSTS 5-day accreditation
  • Minimum 3-day first aid accreditation
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a site supervisory role
  • Experience in excavation/groundworks/concreting/drainage/highways
  • Full clean driving licence
  • HNC/HND/Degree qualification in construction-related studies
  • Temporary Works Supervisor accreditation
  • NRSWA Supervisor / Lantra 12D accreditation
  • SEATS accreditation (Site Environmental)
  • Good working knowledge of the construction industry and of all relevant trade disciplines
  • Good understanding of the CDM regulations
  • Good understanding of NEC Form of Contracts
  • Motivator and people leader
