About The Role
Balfour Beatty is seeking dedicated and skilled Works Supervisors to join our Power T&D Team, based in Hull.
Join our Power T&D business as a Works Supervisor and benefit from our comprehensive 13-week Upskilling Programme, designed to accelerate your professional growth and equip you with the latest industry competencies. This structured programme blends core and mandatory training, including health and safety, first aid, and digital skill. With advanced modules in project management, technical documentation, environmental sustainability, and commercial awareness. Through immersive learning environments, hands-on technical sessions, and exposure to cutting-edge digital tools, you’ll gain practical expertise in supervising complex site operations, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with the highest standards of quality and safety.
The programme also features dedicated project shadowing and a final capability assessment, providing you with real-world experience and the confidence to lead teams on live projects. You’ll develop key skills in leadership, planning, incident response, and stakeholder communication, all while building a strong foundation for future career progression within the organisation. By the end of the 13 weeks, you’ll be fully prepared to take on the challenges of a Works Supervisor role, with a clear pathway for ongoing development and advancement in the Power T&D sector.

What you'll be doing
Working alongside the Project Manager and project team with accountability for
successful project delivery including planning of subcontracted works, setting
subcontractors to work, assisting in planning and delivery of overall and wider works
program, monitoring of works, ensuring documentation is in place for work activities and ensure works are being delivered efficiently and safely.

Who we're looking for
To join us in this role, ideally you will have some or most of the following:
- Previous experience in any construction role or environment.
- Experience in implementing safe systems of work
- Experience in managing risks and change processes
- Good interpersonal skills that enable working relationships to be developed at all levels across the business and be able to negotiate and influence
- Experience of supervising a small team
- Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all levels of the organisation
- Able to undertake work in high pressure situations with a flexible attitude
- A record of a solutions-based approach to problem solving
- Proficient on O365
- Holds CSCS and SSSTS or equivalent
You must hold a valid driving license.
We are expecting the training course to take place in September and you will need to be available for the full 13 weeks.
