About The Role

Workshop Assistant

Permanent position

Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

The Role

The Workshop Assistant supports the workshop in daily activities associated with the maintenance, repair, and testing of containerised offshore systems and ancillary equipment. This role involves providing general support to the workshop team in all aspects of workshop activity including waste disposal, cleaning and tidying the workshop and yard areas.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ensure company HSQE policy and written procedures are followed.
  • Support equipment loadouts, ensuring picking lists are adhered to.
  • Assist the paint team with fabric maintenance of equipment.
  • Ensure the workshop and yard are kept tidy and the waste management policy is adhered to.
  • Support the Workshop Manager in organising base layout and structure.
  • Pressure-wash equipment and buildings.
  • Work safely as per the Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous approach to customers and colleagues at all times.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good physical condition with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Skills, Knowledge And Experience

  • Previous experience in a workshop or similar role is preferred.
  • Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship in a related field is advantageous.

This role is to be based at our Great Yarmouth location; therefore, you will need to live within a reasonable distance to be eligible.
