Workshop Controller – Belfast Vauxhall
Hours:
- Mon–Thur: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Fri: 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Salary: £36,000 plus bonus opportunity
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Controller to join our dynamic team at Belfast Vauxhall. Ideal for a talented and enthusiastic professional looking to advance their career, this role will see you supervising and motivating our team of Technicians and Apprentices, while proactively reviewing and prioritising daily workloads.
As Workshop Controller, you will play a crucial role in our business, particularly within the Aftersales Department, reporting to our Service Manager. Your support will ensure you have everything you need to excel in this position. You’ll also have the opportunity to complete brand-specific training, helping you progress within the motor trade industry.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Day-to-day management of the workshop, ensuring service and repair technicians meet their daily targets
- Supporting the Service Manager to provide the best possible service to customers and achieve agreed profits and retention levels
- Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through relevant quality checks
- Ensuring compliance with company, DVSA, health and safety, and OEM policies
- Overseeing that all service work is completed correctly, competently, and on time
- Maintaining strong relationships with vehicle manufacturers and providing support to Technicians during repairs
- Ensuring high standards and cleanliness are maintained within the workshop and surrounding areas
- Coordination with colleagues and other departments to deliver exceptional service
- Efficiently scheduling work to meet customer needs, considering workshop targets, job complexity, and parts availability
- Addressing technical challenges, offering proactive support, and preparing technical reports
