About the Role

Crown is seeking a passionate, skilled Service Technician to complete inspections, safety checks, and service, repair, and maintenance of forklift trucks, handling equipment, and plant. The role involves:

  • Conducting inspections and safety checks in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Performing day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnostics to meet first-fix targets.
  • Preparing new equipment for deployment.
  • Sourcing parts and materials from internal or external suppliers.
  • Minimising downtime through efficient fault-finding and communication.
  • Adhering to company procedures, Health & Safety (H&S), and COSHH regulations.
  • Seeking opportunities for personal and team development.
  • Ability to perform other duties as reasonably requested by management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory safety checks.
  • Completing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs to technical standards.
  • Meeting service performance targets and maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Collaborating with the team to keep forklift and plant operational.
  • Staying updated with latest engineering techniques and advances in material handling technology.

Key Requirements

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
  • Proficiency in fault-finding and stock repairs.
  • GCSE equivalent in English & Maths (Grade C or above).
  • Experience with Health & Safety in workshop environments.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Strong organisational skills, resourcefulness, and problem-solving ability.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads under pressure.
  • Independenced and teamwork skills, with excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong consultation, negotiation, and adaptability to meet diverse needs.
  • Highly motivated, resilient, and able to work under pressure with a "can-do" mindset.

Desirable

  • Prior experience in forklift maintenance/service (not essential but advantageous).
  • Engineering qualification or related training.

  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8-hour days (with 30-minute lunch break).
