Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Complete inspections and safety checks in accordance with industry practice and regulations.
- Perform day-to-day service, repair, and maintenance of:
- Forklift trucks
- Handling equipment
- Plant machinery
- Complete fault-finding and repairs to meet first-fix targets.
- Prepare new equipment for deployment.
- Source parts from internal or external suppliers.
- Communicate quickly/efficiently to minimise downtime and achieve first-fix targets.
- Adhere to company procedures, Health and Safety regulations, and COSHH guidelines.
- Seek and act on opportunities for personal and team development.
- Carry out other duties, as reasonably requested by management.

Qualifications & Experience
To be considered, you must demonstrate knowledge of at least one of the following areas, and be willing to accept additional training:
- Mechanical engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Hydraulics
Requirements
The role requires:
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Proficiency in fault finding and repair.
- Educational attainment: Grade C or above in English and Maths at GCSE level.
- Experience with Health & Safety in a workshop environment.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
- Excellent organisational skills, resourcefulness, and problem-solving ability.
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads efficiently.
- Flexibility to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to negotiate, consult, and adapt to diverse demands.

Desirable
- Recent experience in a forklift truck service environment (not mandatory).
- Engineering qualification.
Vacancy Details
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts (30 mins for lunch).
- Holidays: 25 days + Bank Holidays.
- Pension: Company pension plan available.
