Grade: 10 Location: Stirling Contract: Full-time, permanent We are looking for someone to effectively and competently carry out the service and repairs of machinery within the workshop to the highest standards, to ensure we deliver a first class service to both internal & external customers. What you'll be doing: To service and repair Volvo construction equipment or miscellaneous equipment as required. To carry out all work in line with quotations and time guides, highlighting to management where additional work may be required, upon strip-down of components. Maintain a sufficient personal toolkit to enable you to carry out the job effectively. Ensure software updates are installed as new versions are released. Accurate completion of paperwork, i.e. oil sample reports and service inspection reports. Complete electronic time registration inputs in ‘real time’ providing comprehensive details of the work undertaken. To order parts for your work as necessary and to return parts in a clean condition and at the time of job completion Flexibility to work overtime as and when required. To attend any relevant product or systems training courses, to ensure a high standard of competence required to efficiently complete workshop duties. Work in accordance with SMT GB ISO standards of health, safety, quality and environmental care. What you'll need: A formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural/HGV mechanics Relevant experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy construction plant Proven technical competence on diesel engines, transmissions, drive lines, hydraulics and electronics. Ability to communicate efficiently with colleagues, management and customers Works with a cost conscious mindset to ensure maximum profitability Problem solving ability and appropriate diagnostic skills Basic IT skills High standards and attention to detail Conscientious in all aspects of the job Highly responsible, reliable, honest and trustworthy Ability to understand technical literature including service bulletins and parts books Its a bonus if you have: Welding, fabrication and line boring experience What's in it for you?
