Workshop Fitter – Monmouth
About The Role
Siltbuster Ltd is recruiting a Workshop Fitter to join our team at our headquarters in Monmouth. This role involves the mechanical and electrical assembly, servicing, and repair of company products and equipment. Due to our fast-paced business environment, the Workshop Fitter must ensure all equipment operates at a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, assemble, test, and service company products and equipment safely, efficiently, and effectively
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs on pumps, valves, piping, and mechanical/electrical components
- Conduct preventative maintenance, checking for damage or defects, and reporting/repairing as necessary
- Propose improvements for products, equipment, or processes
- Ensure all administration and paperwork is completed accurately, thoroughly, and on time
- Clean and maintain products and equipment as required
- Provide support and absence cover for other yard/workshop roles when needed
- Offer ad hoc field support to engineers for client site installations or product delivery UK-wide, as required
- Operate fork-lifts (if trained, qualified, and competent)
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and report defects
- Keep the work area clean, tidy, and organised, with proper storage of tools and parts

Qualifications, Skills And Attributes
- NVQ Level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering, plant maintenance or equivalent work experience
- Proven experience in a Workshop Fitter or similar role
- Knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and mechanical components (advantageous)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, instructions, and drawings
- Proficiency in using hand tools commonly found in a workshop
- Strong problem-solving skills for both simple and complex issues
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Willingness to learn (training will be provided)
- High level of integrity, reliability, and dependability
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
- Valid driving licence
