Location: Kent (Wingham) / Hybrid working Contract Type: Permanent Salary: from £45k Hours: 37 hours per week Closing Date: 2026-07-31
We’re seeking a Workshop Manager to lead a dynamic workshop team across Kent, overseeing maintenance and engineering projects while ensuring operating standards meet safety, compliance, and efficiency requirements. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader who wants to drive operational excellence in water infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management
- Lead and develop a team of technicians at a critical Kent workshop
- Delegate, mentor, and coach staff to maximise productivity and skill growth
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Operations & Project Delivery
- Oversee workshop operations, including maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of mechanical assets
- Coordinate project teams delivering upgrades and efficiency improvements
- Align workshop activities with broader business goals and operational needs
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to health & safety and regulatory standards
- Drive asset reliability through proactive maintenance strategies
- Minimise risks while optimising resource allocation

Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and site stakeholders
- Communicate effectively to problem-solve and mitigate operational challenges
Requirements
Experience & Skills
- Proven track record in maintenance or workshop management (mechanical/electrical experience preferred)
- Leadership experience, including team management, project delivery, and multi-site coordination
- Strong understanding of health & safety regulations, compliance, and risk management
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities
- Full UK driving licence (essential for site visits)

- Ability to excel in both operational tasks and strategic decision-making
