Stagecoach London employs around 5000 colleagues and operates about 1600 vehicles from our bus garages in east and south east London. Not only are we a highly successful business, we’re also an integral part of the communities we serve, connecting people through the operation of multi-million miles of routes every year across London. Since 1980, Stagecoach Group has played a key role in the delivery of high standard transport operations with an industry leading, customer-centric focus. Here at Stagecoach London, we are passionate about delivering exceptional experiences to our customers, no matter how long or short that journey may be.

A summary:

You’ll assist our engineering management team at Lea Interchange Garage in leading a talent team of colleagues, from apprentices, coachbuilders through to skilled engineers and administrative/support functions. The remit primarily serves to assist the Engineering Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the local engineering function, encompassing an array of areas from garage premises to equipment.

What we need from you:

  • A demonstrable and well-established experience level at middle management within an automotive/heavy vehicles bias, likewise historic experience of “tool based” work.
  • Familiarity with best practice standards, notably related to Health, Safety, Quality & Environment.
  • An understanding of quality standards required by DVSA, TfL and the Department of Transport.
  • An excellent technical knowledge.
  • Ideally you’ll have PCV experience (though not essential), as we can teach you the bus part if you’re in fleet management in an alternative field.
  • Great people skills as being an inclusive and diverse people business will require you to be adaptable and lead by example.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
