About the Role

Carrier Rental Systems provides 24/7 nationwide equipment rental solutions to prevent operational downtime. The Workshop Supervisor role, part of the Pumps & Power division, is based at the Aberdeen depot and reports to the depot manager.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and support depot operations, balancing administrative oversight with hands-on technical leadership. Core duties include:

  • Operational Management
    • Oversee daily depot and workshop activities, including equipment hire, maintenance, and refurbishment, to ensure smooth workflows.
    • Allocate tasks to service engineers and workshop teams, prioritising recovery timescales and customer needs.

  • Technical Leadership

    • Work alongside technicians to diagnose, repair, and service pumps, generators, and HVAC equipment.
    • Ensure all equipment meets mechanical integrity standards for hire readiness.
  • Compliance & Safety

    • Lead Health & Safety initiatives to maintain a secure environment for employees and visitors.
    • Uphold CSCS-compliant working practices.
  • Customer & Logistics Coordination

    • Respond to customer enquiries, site issues, and emergency call-outs with efficiency.
    • Oversee equipment transfers between depots and collaborate with sales/operations teams.
  • Administrative Responsibilities

    • Maintain accurate records for maintenance, transport, and hire tracking.
    • Monitor spare parts inventory, service intervals, and biennial reports for management.

Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Supervisory experience in a mechanical/工程环境, with expertise in diesel engines.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering (e.g., HNC).
  • Strong organisational skills, with proficiency in IT systems (Microsoft Word/Excel).
  • Valid CSCS card and Health & Safety awareness.
  • Full UK driving license (necessary for depot transporter duties).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary (Band): £36,799–£40,961 per annum, adjusted for experience, qualifications, and skills.
  • Overtime & Call-Out Pay included for services outside standard hours.
  • Company Van: Fully-equipped 4x4 van available for commuting (eligible to bid to purchase after 2 years).
  • Holidays: 25 days (payable annually), plus public holidays.
