Fleet Services are at the heart of delivering essential services to multiple areas that support statutory services to residents across the Dacorum Borough. Fleet Services play a vital role in ensuring vital and essential vehicle maintenance is completed to support multiple services from waste and recycling collections, parks to open spaces, trees and woodlands, street cleaning and grounds maintenance, to cemeteries and bereavement services, parking operations and the cleaning services. These services have a direct impact on the communities we serve.
A key part of the role will involve supporting all aspects of Operator Licence compliance and ensuring all vehicles are planned and scheduled for the necessary maintenance, managing workshop technicians, working in collaboration with other services, maximising fleet and plant availability, reviewing parts requirements and authorising expenditure. You will also ensure safe working practices are maintained in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, identify innovative solutions, maintain and review systems within quality standards.

We are looking for an individual who has the technical skills required, enjoys a varied workload, is target driven, organised, and able to use digital platforms and is creative in their approach.

The Council is going through a major change as part of Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and devolution. This means that the district and borough councils in Hertfordshire will be replaced by a smaller number of new unitary councils.
