Workshop Team Leader
Team Leader – Engineering (Vehicle Maintenance & Repair)
Working closely with the Workshop Manager, the Team Leader (TL) is accountable for driving the team’s performance in customer service delivery, ensuring all KPIs are met in line with the current workshop dashboard. This includes:
- Used Equipment Turnaround Time
- On-Time Prep (Meeting committed dates for New, Used, and STR – Short-Term Rental orders)
- Average Job Times aligning with agreed targets
- Quality of Work adherence to agreed standards
- Number of Trucks Prepared to scheduled targets
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee the daily efficiency of the engineering team to deliver a high-quality customer experience.
- Act as the first point of contact for engineers.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in workshop and warehouse areas.
Health & Safety (H&S) Leadership
- Lead all H&S initiatives and ensure compliance.
- Conduct safety audits and site risk assessments.
- Coordinate training (including e-learning completion).
- Investigate and report P0/P6 Near Misses, Job Safety Observations, and P3 Accidents with appropriate corrective actions.
- Drive accident investigation, accident reduction initiatives, and proper reporting mechanisms.

Engineer Performance & Development
- Manage engineer performance, including:
- Dialogues (where applicable)
- Engagement and retention strategies
- Coaching and development planning
- Training needs identification
- Conduct first-level technical escalations.
Team Management & Warenches
- Handle engineering coverage, including absence management and holiday authorisations.
- Facilise team meetings to communicate business objectives and performance targets.
- Ensure Work in Progress (WIP) completion to promise, including proper documentation.
- Conduct and track 5S standard audits, implement improvements, and record action plans if deficiencies are found.
Service Delivery & Compliance
- Complete Service Audits to maintain standards.
- Manage Job completion timelines and service agreements.
