Overall Purpose of the Role

The Workshop Technician will assist the Technical Manager in executing workshop tasks—such as manufacturing hull aperture blanks, producing new-build equipment—which includes technical maintenance for plant and building facilities.

Key responsibilities also involve:

  • Supporting on-site operations (during maintenance or equipment mobilisation).
  • Covering dives as a diving tender, after completing necessary competency training.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Operate in compliance with SeaTec’s Health, Safety and Quality Management Systems, adhering to V. Group Employee guidelines.
  • Work under the direction of the appointed line manager with safety-first as core procedure.
  • Provide maintenance support in office locations (Chandlers Ford, Plymouth), when deemed competent.
  • Assist in blank manufacturing, equipment assembly, and plant maintenance under manager guidance.
  • Maintain operational documentation, such as load-out lists and heads-up plans, ensuring accurate coordination between teams.
  • Execute red tag procedures for defective equipment.
  • Support diving operations under the diving supervisor’s lead, prioritising customer satisfaction.
  • Performs additional duties as required to support business operations.

Requirements

Essential

✅ Experience within a workshop or operational environment. ✅ Basic knowledge of workshop tooling and mechanical terminology. ✅ Proactive and collaborative team player. ✅ Strong interpersonal skills. ✅ Proficient across Microsoft Office suite.

Desirable

✔ Minimum A-Levels (or equivalent) in Science/Engineering (exceptions apply for experienced candidates). ✔ Current First Aid certification. ✔ UK Driving Licence.
