Workshop Technician – Aberdeen

JAB Recruitment is currently sourcing on behalf of our client for an experienced Workshop Technician to support workshop operations in Aberdeen.

This role would suit someone with a strong mechanical workshop background and experience working with oilfield, wellhead, pressure control, drilling or specialist mechanical equipment.

The role will involve:

  • Repair, servicing, certification, testing and refurbishment of equipment
  • Stripping, cleaning, inspecting, assembling and testing mechanical equipment
  • Fault finding and helping identify practical technical solutions
  • Following work instructions, workshop procedures and safety requirements
  • Supporting workshop maintenance and keeping the work area clean and organised
  • Working individually or as part of a team depending on project requirements
  • Supporting other workshop areas or attending offsite/client locations when required

We are looking for:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relevant mechanical workshop or equipment environment
  • Experience with Pressure Control Equipment, Surface Wellhead Equipment and/or Managed Pressure Drilling equipment
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and practical fault-finding ability
  • Good safety awareness and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow procedures accurately
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Forklift experience would be beneficial, where trained and authorised
