Role Description
The Writer role at TSS is a full-time, on-site position based in Birmingham. This role involves developing clear, accurate written content for internal communications, reports, training materials, and client-facing documents. The Writer will collaborate with operational and management teams to gather information, structure messaging, and ensure consistency with TSS’s tone and brand standards.
Daily tasks include:
- Drafting and editing content
- Proofreading for clarity and compliance
- Adapting complex security information into accessible language
The Writer will also support the creation of presentations and documentation that enhance understanding of TSS’s services and values.

- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise content for different audiences.
- Ability to research topics, organize information, and translate technical or operational details into accessible written materials.
- Experience developing internal communications, training content, reports, or client-facing documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail, grammar, and style, with a consistent and professional writing voice.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work with cross-functional teams and gather input from subject matter experts.
- Good time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a busy on-site environment.
- Proficiency with common office and document tools (e.g., word processing, presentation software); familiarity with basic layout or formatting principles is a plus.
- Relevant education or experience in writing, communications, journalism, or a related field; knowledge of the security or retail sector is beneficial but not essential.
