X 2 Environmental Health Officer OR Environmental Protection Officer (OCS126)

Band I (SCP 28 – 32 ) £39,152 - £42,839 per annum (pay award pending), plus National Essential Car User Allowance £963 per annum.

Permanent, 37 hours per week

About the role:

We are looking for two Environmental Health or Environmental Protection professionals (depending on qualifications) who want to make that key difference and help us to deliver front line regulatory support in areas including Statutory Nuisance and noise investigations as well as Air Quality monitoring, Contaminated Land, Permitted processes and much more.

Working within a wider team delivering the full range of Environmental Health functions, we are looking for people who can work both on their own initiative and collaborate with others to deliver a high-quality service that puts our residents in at the centre of what we do. No two days are the same, but you can expect to gain a broad and varied experience of a range of enforcement areas working for a supportive local authority that values personal development.

About you:

  • Strong preference for a Degree in Environmental Health but relevant alternative degree qualifications considered.
  • Demonstrable experience in relevant fields as outlined in the Person Specification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • We are especially keen to hear from applicants with the Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control qualification. Further details are available in the supporting documentation.
