Senior Xplan Software Engineer

Location: London, Glasgow or Liverpool (Hybrid)

We're partnering with a leading UK Wealth Management organisation that is investing heavily in its technology estate and is looking to hire an experienced Senior Xplan Software Engineer.

This is an opportunity to work on one of the UK's largest financial planning platforms, helping to develop, enhance and integrate Iress Xplan as part of a wider modern engineering environment.

This isn't a role for someone who has only configured Xplan. We're looking for a well-rounded Software Engineer who has experience working with Xplan alongside modern development technologies.

What you'll be doing

  • Developing and enhancing Iress Xplan solutions
  • Building integrations between Xplan and wider enterprise platforms
  • Developing high-quality software using modern engineering practices
  • Working closely with Product, Architecture and Engineering teams
  • Supporting the ongoing evolution of a key wealth management platform
  • Contributing to technical design and continuous improvement initiatives

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
