We are a busy equine referral hospital based in Newbury, West Berkshire and are looking to expand our team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working and dedicated person with a passion for horses and their welfare. The ideal applicant will have experience and confidence working with a range of horses, ideally to include racehorses, foals and competition horses.
How You’ll Make a Difference
You will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the yard, ensuring all inpatients receive exceptional, gold-standard care at all times. This role involves leading, organising, and supporting the yard team while promoting best practice across all areas of patient care and yard management.
As an important link between the clinical team and yard staff, you will help maintain excellent communication, high standards of welfare, and an efficient working environment.
The main duties of the job involve the daily care of the horses at the hospital to include feeding, mucking out, grooming and yard maintenance. Additionally, the Yard Assistants admit and discharge in-patients and complete paperwork with clients - full training will be given.

It is essential for all applicants to have excellent horse handling skills and used to handling a variety of horses.
This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will also participate in Weekends/Bank Holidays on a rota basis.
