We are seeking an experienced and motivated Yard Manager to lead our Rosyth Yard operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and effective management of structural steel and associated materials across the site.

Working closely with Production, Fabrication, Logistics, Quality, and HSE teams, you will ensure materials are received, stored, handled, bundled, kitted, loaded, and dispatched in line with production schedules and customer delivery requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong supervisor with experience in steelwork, logistics, manufacturing, or construction environments who thrives in a fast-paced operational setting and is passionate about safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Yard Operations & Team Leadership

  • Lead and supervise the Rosyth Yard Team, ensuring compliance with company procedures, standards, and safe systems of work.
  • Plan, organise, and coordinate daily yard activities to support fabrication, galvanising, and delivery schedules.
  • Allocate resources and workloads to maximise productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor team performance, providing guidance, coaching, and support where required.
  • Assist with training, development, and competency assessments of yard personnel.

Material Handling, Bundling & Kitting

  • Oversee all bundling, kitting, and material preparation activities to ensure compliance with project and customer requirements.
  • Ensure steelwork and associated components are accurately identified, sorted, labelled, and prepared for dispatch.
  • Verify bundle contents against Bills of Materials, delivery documentation, and customer specifications.
  • Coordinate the movement of materials throughout the site to minimise delays and improve workflow.
  • Ensure all lifting and handling activities are completed safely using appropriate equipment and procedures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
