About The Role
Join Our Dynamic Onsite Yard Operative Team at IPL Sittingbourne!
We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Yard Operative to become a vital part of our team at Sittingbourne. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career and join a global business with a £2 billion + turnover.
The role requirements are to complete various warehouse yard duties, as safely, accurately and as efficiently as possible upholding the highest standards of health and safety at all times.
Position Details:
- Schedule: 4 on 4 off, 7pm - 7am (Nights)
- Location: IPL Sittingbourne - Site Based Role
- Contract Type: Permanent
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Work with team colleagues to ensure the workplace environment is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness, and complies with company and legislative standards at all times
- Ensure Waste Dolav’s are emptied and replaced in a timely manner
- Communicate with waste disposal company with regard to deliveries and collections from site
- Manage the organisation of the yard area to ensure waste segregation is in accordance with company policy
- Take reasonable care of health and safety, ensuring all company safety and quality systems are followed and all relevant legislation complied with, raising concerns and reporting any incidents or suggestions to the line manager
- Liaise with the despatch team to ensure smooth and efficient removal of trays from the Warehouse to the Yard area
- Undertake receipt and checking of incoming stock in line with company goods in process, ensuring all, label and segregation disciplines are completed as appropriate
- Undertake MHE truck duties as required, ensuring daily safety checks are conducted thoroughly and company warehouse guidelines observed
- Ensure all stock/ancillaries are stored, handled and transported securely and in line with company procedures, food hygiene legislation and health and safety guidelines

What Are We Looking For?
- Experience in using a Counterbalance FLT is necessary and possession of a Counterbalance certificate
- Proven experience of working within an operations/yard/warehouse site within a FMCG environment – ideally experience within a yard environment
- A working knowledge of health and safety policies and procedures and application within a yard/warehouse operation
- Good communication skills
- Ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues both internally and externally
- Previous Yard or Warehouse experience
