We are looking for a self-motivated, driven and adaptable individual who enjoys a challenge to work alongside our energetic team in Alrewas. The role requires a CAN-DO attitude, an ability to learn from any losses and celebrate every win. Job Purpose

A yard operative needs to be willing of driving mobile plant and learning the use of the bagging machines on site. They need to be able to work in all weather conditions and work within a highly motivated team with good communication being fundamental within the role. Manual work is required on a daily basis.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

This is an important role within GRS, with primary responsibility to:

  • Ensure safe, Compliant & Efficient production of bagged aggregates.
  • Ensure high standards of Health & Safety at all times, reporting any issues, accidents and near miss to line manager.
  • Work as part of a team high performing team to produce bagged aggregates for our customers with focus on quality and production key.
  • Operate a Forklift truck, depending on site requirement.
  • Completion of fixed plant and mobile plant inspections.
  • Bag aggregates in a plastic and bulk bag to the required target levels with relevant training given.
  • Net and sheet lorries as and when requested by line manager.
  • General housekeeping duties as and when requested by line manager.
  • Good communication with all drivers, yard operatives and delivery drivers.
  • Responsibility for compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant work place.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB

  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety (Preferable).
  • Forklift Truck License (Preferable).
  • Training will be given but experience in the above areas will be an advantage.
  • Applicants must have a full UK driving license.
