We’re looking for a self-motivated, driven and adaptable individual who enjoys a challenge to work alongside our energetic team in Flixton. This is a role for those with a can-do attitude, who can learn from losses and celebrate wins. Job Purpose
As a Yard Operative, your role involves:
- Driving mobile plant and operating bagging machines on site.
- Working in all weather conditions.
- Collaborating with a highly motivated team, with excellent communication being crucial.
- Performing daily manual work requirements.
This is a core part of our operations, ensuring the smooth and compliant production of bagged aggregates.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
This role requires you to:
- Ensure safe, compliant and efficient production of bagged aggregates.
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety at all times:
- Report any incidents, accidents or near-misses to your line manager.
- Work as part of a high-performing team to produce high-quality bagged aggregates, focusing on quality and productivity.
- Operate a Forklift Truck as needed by site requirements.
- Conduct inspections of fixed and mobile plant.
- Bag aggregates in plastic and bulk bags, achieving required targets (training provided).
- Net and sheet lorries as requested by your line manager.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, following manager instructions.
- Maintain proactive communication with drivers, yard operatives and delivery teams.
- Hold compliance responsibilities, including HR and Health & Safety, ensuring a safe, equitable and legally compliant workplace.

Knowledge, Training and Experience Required
- Preferred: Good knowledge of Health & Safety.
- Preferred: Forklift Truck License.
- Training provided, but experience in bagging, safety and plant operation is advantageous.
