Yard Operative
Vehicle Service Technician Salaries: £29,774.79 per annum (plus Veolia benefits) Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 08:00–17:00 Location: Portsmouth, PO3 5NY

About the Role

Responsibilities
Cleaning & Maintenance:
- Perform exterior washing and detailing of trucks, trailers, and commercial vehicles, including pressure washing
- Maintain yard cleanliness and organisation
- Remove debris, litter and waste
- Sweep, tidy and conduct minor repairs
- Ensure supplies and equipment are maintained
- Report vehicle damage or maintenance issues

- Safely handle and dispatch materials, equipment and supplies
- Load and unload vehicles accurately

Essential Requirements
✔ Strong work ethic and attention to detail ✔ Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions ✔ Physically fit, capable of manual labour ✔ Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
Desirable
🔹 Previous experience in vehicle washing or yard maintenance 🔹 Holding a Class 2 (Cat C) licence would be advantageous 🔹 Up-to-date CPC / Digi card
