Yard Supervisor

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in managing a warehouse/yard in a fast-paced environment and experience of effectively running a successful function. The individual will be responsible for the yard/warehouse operation and for providing excellent standards of service, efficiency, and performance.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the yard/warehouse department
  • Efficiently managing a team of yard/warehouse staff, ensuring orders are correct and on time, providing top quality customer service
  • Responsibility for all goods in/out
  • Ensuring company compliance of all warehouse/yard policies, legislations and procedures as well as taking responsibility for health and safety issues of the warehouse/yard
  • Managing, monitoring, and developing a team of warehouse/yard staff
  • Involvement in strategic development and improvements
  • Ensuring housekeeping is well maintained including excellent external presentation of our branch.
  • Maintain accurate administrative records.
  • Providing excellent standards of service, efficiency, and performance.
  • Loading/unloading our vehicles and supplier vehicles.
  • Assisting customers.

Experience and Skills

  • Previous foreman/management experience, with a proven track record of managing a fast-paced environment would be desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong people management skills
  • Experience within the merchant industry is essential.
