Yard Team Supervisor

Pollington, Goole

Competitive Salary + Benefits
40 hours per week

Marshalls Water Management is a leading manufacturer of precast concrete drainage and bespoke products with manufacturing sites in Pollington and Mells. Part of the Marshalls Group; a thriving industry-leading FTSE 250, the brand is synonymous with quality; supplying prestigious landmarks across the UK. We’re a Superbrand since 2010 and did you know we've paved every square on the monopoly board?!

We now have a new opportunity for a Yard Team Supervisor, known within Marshalls as an Operations Team Manager to support our Operations Manager to exceed KPIs by ensuring that business objectives are cascaded through to our manufacturing teams, engaging the ‘hearts and minds’ of the company’s employees to create and sustain a pro-active culture in all disciplines across the business!

So, what’s the mission?

As Yard Team Manager at Marshalls plc, you’ll lead the safe and efficient operation of a busy civils and drainage yard, ensuring effective yard utilisation and on-time deliveries. You’ll oversee the movement of stock from production into the yard and through to dispatch, including the safe loading and unloading of vehicles and the use of mobile plant equipment such as FLTs, loading shovels, and telehandlers. Working closely with production and transport teams, you’ll drive performance, reduce waste, and maintain high quality standards across all yard activities.

You’ll manage a team of circa 25 operatives, taking responsibility for all first-line people management including attendance, holidays, training, welfare, and discipline. Through clear communication, regular briefings, and visible leadership, you’ll ensure your team operate plant and equipment safely and efficiently, maintain excellent housekeeping standards, and consistently deliver against KPI targets in a performance-driven environment.

Health and safety will be central to your role, with responsibility for ensuring full compliance with company policies and site standards, and promoting best working practices at all times. You’ll take a zero-tolerance approach to unsafe behaviours while remaining hands-on in the yard during busy periods, leading by example and continuously identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, develop your team, and enhance overall site performance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
