Scope of Position:
The Yard Worker is responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining PERI products and equipment to ensure they remain in optimal working condition. This role includes refurbishing components using hand and power tools, as well as conducting quality inspections on all returned materials to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
What you'll do on a typical day:
- Count and service components to meet defined quality, productivity, and rental criteria standards.
- Use of ERP system for daily functions on returns and service processes.
- Manual material handling of both large and small formwork and scaffolding components.
- Remove, repair, and replace basic components using a variety of hand and power tools:
- Hand tools: hammers, chisels, screw drivers, spanners, pliers.
- Power tools: drills, saws, grinders, routers, rivet guns.
- Accurately record all completed service work records.
- Participate in cycle counts and inventory processes.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes to position equipment and parts during set-up and repair.
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
- Inspect and examine equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Actively participate in all Health & Safety meetings with a strong commitment to safety.
- Respect working procedures.
- Use protective personal equipment when required.
- Report hazards and accidents.
- Take care of your health and safety and that of the others.
- Other related duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be successful:
- Previous experience working in an outdoor environment with a variety of hand and power tools preferred.
- Ability to handle both large and small parts for material preparation and movement.
- Ability to differentiate between colours, shapes, and sizes.
- Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction and multiplication and the ability to count parts manually.
- Dedication to promoting and maintaining the highest standard of workplace Health & Safety.
- Comply with the mandatory respiratory protection program where required.
- Capability to lift up to 10 kg (22 lbs) on a regular basis and up to 23 kg (50 lbs) on an occasional basis.
- Standing and walking up to 8.75 hours per day.
- Ability to reach at and above shoulder level as required.
- Work is performed outdoors and indoors year-round.
- Regular exposure to dust, dirt, and grime.
- Constant exposure to forklift and transport truck traffic.
- Regular exposure to moderate noise levels.
- Availability to work overtime during weekdays and weekends when required.
- Must wear the personal protective equipment required in work areas.
- Half-face piece respirator must be worn in specific work areas.
