About the Role Vortex, a specialist CIPP (Cured-In-Place Pipe) rehabilitation contractor, is seeking a reliable and hardworking Yardman to support the day-to-day running of our yard and operational facilities. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient yard environment, ensuring vehicles, plant, equipment, and materials are prepared and available to support project delivery across the South of the UK.

Key Responsibilities Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard environment Load and unload vehicles, materials, and equipment Prepare plant, tools, and equipment for operational use Inspect vehicles, equipment, and assets for damage or defects Manage stock levels of materials, consumables, and PPE Carry out routine yard maintenance and housekeeping duties Assist with deliveries, collections, and logistical activities Ensure equipment is stored securely and correctly Support vehicle and plant checks, servicing schedules, and record keeping Operate forklifts and yard equipment where qualified Segregate and dispose of waste materials in accordance with company procedures Assist operational teams with mobilisation and demobilisation requirements Comply with all health, safety, and environmental procedures Represent Lining Division Ltd professionally at all times

Requirements Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, logistics, construction, or operational support role Good understanding of safe working practices Ability to undertake manual handling and physical tasks Strong work ethic and positive attitude Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good organisational skills and attention to detail Basic record-keeping and communication skills Flexible approach to supporting operational requirements Forklift license (desirable) Experience within construction, utilities, drainage, or infrastructure sectors (desirable) Full UK driving license (preferred)
